Homemade lasagna is a classic Italian dish that is loved by many. Here’s a recipe to help you make a delicious homemade lasagna:
Ingredients:
1 pound of ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 cans of crushed tomatoes (28 oz. each)
1 can of tomato paste (6 oz.)
2 teaspoons of dried basil
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
2 tablespoons of sugar
12 lasagna noodles
16 oz. of ricotta cheese
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat.
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, salt, pepper, and sugar to the skillet. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
While the sauce is simmering, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, and chopped parsley.
To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat these layers until you’ve used all of the ingredients, ending with a layer of meat sauce on top.
Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the lasagna.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Enjoy your delicious homemade lasagna!
