1 cup heavy cream
8 oz mascarpone cheese
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
2 tbsp rum or coffee liqueur (optional)
cocoa powder, for dusting

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
Add the mascarpone cheese to the bowl and whisk until well combined and smooth.
In a small bowl, mix together the cooled espresso or coffee and rum or coffee liqueur (if using).
Quickly dip each ladyfinger in the coffee mixture and place in a single layer in the bottom of an 8×8 inch dish.
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture on top of the ladyfingers.
Repeat with another layer of coffee-dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Dust the top with cocoa powder.
Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
